About Us

This whole web site started in a hot tub......let me explain. You see I have a very well rounded and, intelligent group of friends whom I grew up with. They are all aspiring intellectuals and would constantly push me to be a better person in every aspect of my life. Growing up in a small town it forced us to be creative and think outside the proverbial box. After high school a few of our friends went to college but as for the rest of us, we continue to be poor. We were born into a system that unfortunately does not care. This brings me back to the summer after high school (that was the best time of my life). Who cared about going to college and being smart? I did not and I had fifteen of my closest friends who all felt the same way. One night (out of the many nights that we had nothing to do) we jumped a fence at our local hotel and all got in a hot tub. That night we got in the longest debate of my life, we talked about everything from politics to religion, you name it and I am sure it was covered. We did this every week that summer and I have to say I learned more in that hot tub about the world then I ever did in high school. Time moved on and some of us got married, some finally went to school. And even though we all do not live in the same town, we still talk, and we still debate. So I needed to find a way to keep this going, to keep challenging people and for people to challenge me. So this is our mission statement, this is why we created this website, this is our new hot tub and there are a lot more people that can now participate in ways to make us all critical thinking individuals.
